The programme was conducted by Lorraine Ogle Davies and had a dynamic panel of guest speakers, comprising community health worker Sindi Nene; writer and member of the Wentworth Book Club Irene Taylor Fynn; social worker Zama Mbutho; and Marvin Qhobosheane of Safer Cities. They made presentations on important issues like personal growth, values and decision-making.

Phamina Ngcobo, a librarian at Austerville Library, said, “We came together to have healthy discussion with the girls about sexuality, values and decision making. As libraries we encourage youth to read so that they will become better in life.”

Ngcobo thanked the principal and teachers of Assegai Primary School for assisting in this initiative. “We value the opportunity to host this programme and be a part of developing the future of these young girls,” she stated.
