The inauguration, attended by the staff members, learners, DSES Project Solutions and key stakeholders of the school, signified the start of a new technological era at the school. The computer lab, now fully revamped and operational, has 35 brand new computers, a media projector and an electric screen, newly installed air conditioners, and fitted blinds, offering the best environment for technologically oriented learning.

Clint Leverton, teacher at the school and programme director, praised DSES Project Solutions for their commitment to helping the school. “DSES Project Solutions has been a visionary and pioneer in bringing the Assegai Primary School computer room online and functional,” said Leverton.

He added the computer room is arriving at an opportune time. “With the arrival of the age of technology, the establishment of this computer room will be a good move in preparing our learners, and our teachers too, for the future age. This facility will play a pivotal role in the rollout of coding and robotics in our school,” said Leverton.

The launch featured many guests from DSES Project Solutions including David Swartz, the owner and CEO, and Delroy Swartz, who worked tirelessly to make the school’s dream a reality. Guests from the school included principal Neil Blankenberg, former principal Odette Abrahams-Field and chairperson of the school governing body (SGB) André De Bruin.

Leverton said the learners’ expression when they entered the new room was priceless. “After the cutting of the ribbon and our learners entering the room, the expressions on their faces spoke volumes,” said Leverton.

Blankenberg extended heartfelt thanks to DSES Project Solutions for their excellent contribution. De Bruin struggled to contain his happiness when delivering a heartfelt address that motivated both the school community and DSES team.

The new computer lab serves as a new beacon of hope for the learners at Assegai Primary School.
