First witness is testifying in Ward 64 councillor’s assault case
The State is expected to call in another witness to testify in court.
THE Ward 64 councillor Gavin Hegter is appearing in the Durban Magistrate’s Court today (June 19) facing a charge of assault GBH.

A State witness and the victim in this matter, Mncedisi Dlamini, is testifying in court.
Among the people attending the court proceedings are the supporters of the uMkhonto weSizwe Party and family members of the victim.
The trial is scheduled to proceed for two days.
The matter is currently adjourned in court, and will resume after lunchtime.
