More than 170 people attended to support the local talent. The banquet served as a fundraiser for the organisation’s ongoing arts programme, including activities for people with disabilities, Dance Movement, and for the nine youth  selected to represent SA at the UDO International Dance competition in the UK.

“The night was a huge success,” according to artistic director Jarryd Watson. “We raised R17 800 in total. As a non-profit organisation, funds are always needed, so we will continue to raise until we reach our short-term goal of R150 000.”

The featured energetic dance performances from the youth, who are part of the Dance Movement team,  inspired and entertained the crowd.

“The dancers’ performances were actually incredible,” said Watson.

The organisation is still raising funds to get the nine dancers to the UK.
