Two men caught for theft on The Bluff
The suspects were apprehended and handed over to the police for their alleged involvement in the theft of two gas bottles.
TWO men believed to be behind a string of theft of gas bottles and other crimes were arrested on The Bluff recently.
RLT8 Bluff reported that the suspects were apprehended after they allegedly attempted to sell the stolen gas bottles to a business owner on The Bluff.

Shaun Venter said the apprehension of the suspects came after their officers had received a call from a resident of Assembly Road reporting theft of two 9kg gas bottles from his property.
“The complainant was advised to open a case at Brighton Beach police station, which he did without delay. Following the report, RTL8 immediately issued a crime alert to affiliates and community members.
“At 11:33, RTL8 Control received a call from a (business owner) who reported that two men had arrived at his store attempting to sell two 9kg gas bottles. The description matched the stolen property.”
He said the RTL8 Control immediately mobilised affiliates and partners, including Brighton Beach police, to intervene.

“ET Rapid Response and Hendrik’s Towing responded promptly and successfully apprehended both suspects until the arrival of the Brighton Beach police vehicle.
“The suspects were handed over to the police for further investigation. Special acknowledgment is extended to Sergeant Siduduzo Makhaye (and his team) from Brighton Beach police station for their swift action and assistance in dispatching resources to the scene.
“The complainant proceeded to Brighton Beach police station to continue with the investigation. On arrival, it was confirmed that the stolen property were his gas bottles,” Venter added.
He added the recent incident underscores the importance of vigilance, timely reporting, and strong collaboration among the community, local businesses, and law enforcement agencies.
The suspects will appear in Durban Magistrate’s Court next week.
