Deadly ambush: Man killed in Montclair after arriving at work
The victim, who is an employee of a trucking company near Clairwood Hospital sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
AN employee of a trucking company in Nottingham Place near the Clairwood Hospital died after he was shot dead shortly after he arrived at his workplace earlier today (October 10).
The victim, whose name has not been released by the police, had just exited from his car when an unidentified man approached, opened fire, and fled the scene on foot. Distraught family members and employees remained visibly shaken following the incident.

Attempts to get comments from the victim’s family and the company owner were unsuccessful as police were still actively gathering evidence.
The motive for the killing has not yet been established. Sources at the scene told the SUN that the deceased was inside the company premises when the shooting occurred.

Spokesperson for ALS Paramedics Garrith Jamieson said the victim in his forties had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his body.

“He was in a critical condition and Advanced Life Support Paramedics worked to try and stabilise him on the scene. Due to the severity of the man’s injuries he went into a state of cardiac arrest and despite extensive resuscitation efforts he died.
“The events leading up to the shooting are unknown, however SAPS were in attendance and will be investigating further,” said Jamieson.
Montclair police station spokesperson Captain Cherly Pillay was not immediately available for comment at the time of publishing.
