THE Durban Magistrate’s Court recently sentenced a rapist (36) to life imprisonment for rape after he was found guilty of raping a 12-year-old neighbour.

According to the police, the convicted rapist lured the victim to his flat where he raped her on December 31, 2021.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Thenjiswa Ngcobo said, “The child did not report the matter to her parent, however the attentive mother overhead her child narrating the rape ordeal to her friend and she reported the matter to the police.”

The Brighton Beach Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences detectives investigated the matter and ensured that the rapist spends the rest of his life in jail.
