Help Bluff brothers get to Italy to compete in Yes Cup

Both brothers excel in football and have been chosen to represent their team in Milan.

FIERCE defensive midfielder, Nehemiah Linderboom, and his skillful striker brother, Isaiah Linderboom, have been selected through their soccer team, Durban Lyons Football Club (FC), to play in the Yes Cup in Italy, in April.

Living by the motto ‘never give up and dream big’ taught to them by their parents, The Bluff siblings are no strangers to the competitive football arena and have participated in the Richard’s Bay Tournament, Steven Pienaar Tournament and the Pinetown Supercup sponsored by BB Bakery.

Both brothers, who attend Bushlands Primary School, have continued to excel in football and were overwhelmed to have been chosen to represent their team in Milan. Isiaiah, a Grade 7 learner, said he is inspired by striker, Marcus Rashford, from Manchester United FC and local midfielder, Keagan Buchanan from Amazulu FC, who the brothers had the privilege of meeting.

Nehemiah, who is in the same school in Grade 5, said, “I am inspired by Brazilian professional footballer, Carlos Henrique Casimiro, known as Casemiro, who is a midfielder at Manchester United FC, as well as Amazulu FC midfielder, Eathan Brooks. I was thrilled to meet Eathan at the Amazulu vs TS Galaxy game,” he said.

The boys’ mom, Renata, said she was thankful that the boys were disciplined, even at tender ages, and that they put God first in everything they do.

“Their love for soccer started at young ages where they played and always did their best. They have been playing at Durban Lyons FC in just a short space of time and have won tournaments and were runners-up.
“This is a big opportunity for our boys and as parents we are pleased to have a club that supports the youth in making something of themselves. We know our boys will do us proud. We are close to getting them there and in order for this to become a reality, we would like help with donations and sponsors to cover costs for the trip,” said Renata.
