UPDATE: Two suspects arrested for murder of Merebank resident

The pair were arrested on Sunday (January 19), after one of the suspects handed himself over to the Wentworth police.

TWO suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder of a Merebank resident, Guru Liven Pillay, who was killed over the weekend.

The first suspect (19) handed himself over to the police on January 19, while the second was arrested shortly after the police received information about his whereabouts.

The pair were arrested following an intensive, intelligence-driven operation in the area, led by Wentworth police. They are both detained at the Wentworth Police Station on a murder charge.

Pillay’s body was found at the Punjab Circle in Merebank on Sunday, January 19. According to the police, Pillay, of Sezela Seva Subramanium Temple, was stabbed multiple times. His body was found lying on the grass patch at Punjab Circle.
