Just in: One suspect shot and injured in shootout with police

The injured man is alleged to be one of the suspects involved in exchange of gunfire with police and security guards in Montclair.

A MAN has been shot and injured in a shooting incident on Kenyon Howden Road near a petrol station in Montclair about an hour ago.

ALS Paramedics reported that an exchange of gunfire between the police, security guards and the suspects resulted in one suspect being shot.

Spokesperson for ALS Paramedics Garrith Jamieson said, “Paramedics arrived on the scene to find the police and multiple security officials in attendance with the area cordoned off. Paramedics were shown to a man believed to be in his fifties who had sustained gunshot wounds to his upper body. He was in a serious condition and was stabilised on the scene by Advanced Life Support Paramedics before being transported to a nearby hospital.”

The police were not  available for comment at the time of publishing.
