Yellowwood Park Sports Club has launched a new chess club that hopes to hold future tournaments.
A NEW chess club has started at the Yellowwood Park Sports Club with the aim of building an active chess community in Yellowwood Park and surrounding communities.

“We’re a new club working towards building a chess culture in the community. There’s room for everyone here. We already have a couple of people on board which is great. I’m more than happy to teach anyone who wants to learn,” he said.
The club meets every Sunday at 14:00 at the Yellowwood Park Sports Club. With a few boards and timers already available, the club is well-equipped to cater to friendly games, practise sessions and hopefully tournaments.
“Chess is for everyone. If you’ve ever been interested in the game, this is the perfect opportunity to give it a shot,” he added.
