Homes burgled, cars stolen on The Bluff

One of the stolen vehicles was recovered in Umlazi. The intruders broke into two houses on The Bluff.

TWO homes on The Bluff were broken into and vehicles stolen when intruders broke into the properties on Sormany Road recently.

According to Blue Security the suspects forced open the garage door of the first home on Sormany Road before taking a car.

“One vehicle was taken and driven to another nearby residence, also targeted in a house break-in. Items from that property were loaded into the first vehicle. The suspects then returned to the original home and took the second vehicle, both stolen with their original keys,” read the statement.

“Neither vehicle was fitted with a tracking device. Based on known hotspots, Blue security’s tactical unit proceeded to various sections of Umlazi and located one of the stolen vehicles abandoned on the road. The vehicle was found idling with all doors open,” Blue Security said in a statement.

Umlazi police arrived on the scene, however Blue Security reported that the owner chose to drive the recovered vehicle back to The Bluff. The second vehicle remains missing.

“This recovery highlights the dedication and proactive approach of our tactical team in operating beyond the call to recover stolen property, even without tracking assistance,” the statement said.
