UPDATE: Seven hospitalised after M4 crash near Wentworth

A taxi and caddy were travelling south on the freeway when the taxi lost control and veered across all lanes of traffic.

SEVEN people injured in a collision involving a taxi and caddy on the M4 Southbound near Wentworth have been transported to various hospitals.

According to the spokesperson for ALS Paramedics, Garrith Jamieson, both vehicles were travelling south when the taxi lost control and veered across all lanes of traffic.

Jamieson said the taxi collided with the caddy before both vehicles overturned coming to rest around a concrete pillar on Lansdowne Road.

“Paramedics arrived on the scene to find chaos. Multiple patients were injured and a triage was set up. A total of seven people from both vehicles had sustained injuries ranging from moderate to serious and once all of the injured had been stabilised on the scene they were transported to various Durban hospitals for the further care that they required,” said Jamieson.
