Notice is hereby given in terms of section 41(4) of the National Water Act, 1998 (Act 36 of 1998), of Life Healthcare Group`s intention to apply for a new Water Use Licence for Life Wilgeheuwel Hospital.
WATER USE LICENCE APPLICATION
The application relates to the following water use, as defined in section 21 of the National Water Act:
•Section 21(a): Taking water from a water resource.
NATURE AND LOCATION OF THE PROPOSED WATER USE
Life Wilgeheuwel Hospital is situated in Roodepoort within the City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality, Gauteng Province. The site falls within quaternary catchment A21E in the Limpopo Water Management Area.
The application relates to the abstraction of groundwater from two boreholes for domestic purposes at the hospital. The proposed combined groundwater abstraction volume is 62,677 m per annum.
PUBLIC PARTICIPATION
Interested and affected parties are invited to register and participate in the Water Use Licence Application process. Written comments, concerns or relevant information regarding the proposed water use must be submitted on or before 20 November 2026.
