PUBLIC NOTICE NOTICE OF PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD FOR: BASIC ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT PROCESS APPLICATION FOR PROPOSED CHROME WASH AND STORAGE FACILITY IN STEELPOORT TOWN WITHIN THE FETAKGOMO TUBATSE LOCAL MUNICIPALITY IN SEKHUKHUNE DISTRICT, LIMPOPO PROVINCE. Glowman Solutions (Pty) Ltd has been appointed to undertake a Basic Environmental Assessment (BA) and Water Use License Application (WULA) for the proposed establishment of Chrome Wash and Storage Facility in Steelpoort Town on 5 hectares of the Remaining Extent of Frischgewaagd 359 KT within the Fetakgomo Tubatse Local Municipality in Sekhukhune District, Limpopo Province. The proposed entails the construction of chrome washing facilities and associated infrastructure on site and at operational level, the facility will be used to wash chrome tailings sourced from the local mines and temporary storage before resale. A BA is required to be conducted in accordance with the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Regulations (2014, as amended) as published in terms of the National Environmental Management Act (Act No. 107 of 1998, as amended) (`NEMA`). The following activities in the Regulations are anticipated to be triggered: Listing Notice 1: Activity 27 & Activity 28(ii); and Listing Notice 3: Activity 12(e)(i). An application for environmental authorisation will be submitted to the Limpopo Department of Economic Development, Environment and Tourism (LEDET).
