Notice is hereby given that Sappi Southern Africa Limited
•Tugela Mill is currently undertaking the process of applying for a renewal of their Atmospheric Emission License (AEL) in terms of Chapter 5 of the National Environmental Management: Air Quality Act, 2004 (Act No. 39 of 2004). The facility is located on Old Main Road, Mandeni, Mandeni Local Municipality, 24, KwaZulu-Natal, 4490.
Sappi Tugela is a paper and pulp mill that produces unbleached chemical pulp for internal use in the manufacture of paper products. The Copeland Reactor is the listed activity under the AEL and in the process of renewal. The Reactor is equipped with a fluidised bed furnace, which essentially processes the excess liquid from the pulping process.
Any person who wishes to comment on the renewal application of Sappi Tugela Mill`s Atmospheric Emission License, must register as an interested and affected party (I&AP), and contact the SHEQ Manager as per below details, together with the above AEL reference number, name and contact details.
