WORKSHOP MANAGER / PRODUCTION FOREMAN BATES MINING SPECIALISTS IS LOOKING FOR AN EXPERIENCED WORKSHOP MANAGER / PRODUCTION FOREMAN TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE DAY-TO-DAY RUNNING OF OUR ENGINEERING AND FABRICATION WORKSHOP. WE ARE LOOKING FOR A STRONG, DEPENDABLE RIGHT-HAND PERSON WHO CAN TAKE OWNERSHIP OF THE WORKSHOP, MANAGE EMPLOYEES, CONTROL PRODUCTION, MAINTAIN QUALITY AND ENSURE WORK IS COMPLETED CORRECTLY AND ON TIME. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES `Manage and lead the engineering and fabrication workshop. `Plan and prioritise production according to customer requirements and delivery dates. `Allocate work to artisans and monitor progress. `Read and interpret engineering and fabrication drawings.
•Maintain a strong focus on quality control and workmanship. `Provide technical guidance to artisans and assist with manufacturing solutions.
•Identify production problems and bottlenecks and take corrective action. `Ensure jobs are manufactured efficiently and according to specification.
•Maintain discipline, housekeeping and safe working practices. `Take responsibility for opening and closing the workshop when required. `Communicate clearly with management regarding production, delays and technical issues. REQUIREMENTS
•Strong engineering and fabrication experience. `The ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
•Previous experience managing artisans or workshop employees. `Good production planning and organisational skills. `Strong attention to detail and quality. `Practical problem-solving ability.
•A reliable, trustworthy and accountable nature. Experience as a Workshop Foreman, Production Foreman, Workshop Manager or senior artisan/team leaser within an engineering manufacturing environment will be advantageous. A recognised engineering trade qualification such as Boilermaker, Fitter & Turner or similar would be preferred.
