South Africa We are a leading food producer in the poultry industry, and we are seeking a qualified and experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maximizing machine uptime and ensuring the efficient functioning of processing, packaging, and conveyor systems. Responsibilities
•Preventative Maintenance: Carry out routine maintenance on plant machinery to prevent breakdowns.
•Breakdown Repairs: Quickly diagnose and repair mechanical failures, including hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyor systems, and pumps.
•Installations: Assist with the installation, commissioning, and modification of new equipment.
•Compliance: Adhere to strict health and safety standards (OHS Act) and food safety regulations.
•Documentation: Maintain maintenance records and job card systems.
•Standby: Available for shift work, weekend work, and emergency callouts. Requirements and skills
•Trade Test: Qualified Fitter or Millwright preferrable or relevant experience
•Education: Grade 12 (Matric) and N4-N6 Mechanical Engineering Certificate preferred.
•Experience: 3`5 years of maintenance experience in a fast-paced FMCG or food manufacturing environment.
•Skills: Strong troubleshooting abilities, proficiency in welding/cutting.
•Attributes: Ability to work under pressure, analytical thinking, and a team player.
