INVITATION TO COMMENT ON AN APPLICATION: SUBMITTED IN TERMS OF SECTION 27(1)(A) AND (B) OF THE UMHLATHUZE SPATIAL PLANNING AND LAND USE MANAGEMENT BYLAW, 2017 (AS AMENDED), AND CLAUSE 3.1.3.1 OF THE UMHLATHUZE LAND USE SCHEME, 2025, FOR
•REZONING OF PORTION 2 OF ERF 16689, RICHARDS BAY FROM `RESIDENTIAL ONLY MEDIUM DENSITY` TO *RESIDENTIAL ONLY HIGH DENSITY`;
•REAR BUILDING LINE RELAXATION FROM 4.5M TO 1,368M; 3.584M; AND 3.604M; AND
•RIGHT SIDE BUILDING LINE RELAXATION FROM 4.5M TO 2,808M AND 3.659M Notice is hereby given that the uMhlathuze Municipality is about to consider an application in terms of Sections 27 (1)(a) and (b) of the Umhlathuze Spatial Planning and Land Use Management Bylaw, 2017 (As Amended) (`Splum Bylaw`) And Clause 3.1.3.1 Of The Umhlathuze Land Use Scheme, 2025, For :
•Rezoning Of Portion 2 Of Erf 16689, Richards Bay From `Residential Only Medium Density` To `Residential Only High Density`;
•Rear Building Line Relaxation From 4.5m To 1,368m; 3.584m; 3.604m; And
•Right Side Building Line Relaxation From 4.5m To 2,808m And 3.659m
The application site is located at the T-junction of ZSM Drive and Thrush Road in Empangeni.
Details of the application, together with all the relevant documents, are open for inspection by prior appointment and during office hours with:

A written objection against or representation concerning the proposal, which is clearly marked `Rezoning, Rear and Right Side Building Line Relaxation Ptn 2 of Erf 16689`; and which clearly sets out the grounds for the objection should reach the Municipal Manager by 14 October 2026 at Fax: 035 907 5444, Email: MdumelaT@umhlathuze.gov.za (c.c. creg@umhlathuze.gov.za & MayiselaFT@umhlathuze.gov.za), or the Postal Address below.
A person objecting on behalf of a landowner must submit proof of being authorized to act on behalf of such an owner.
