NOTICE OF AMENDMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL AUTHORISATION AND PUBLIC PARTICIPATION PROCESS UMMBILA EMOYENI SOLAR ENERGY FACILITY, MPUMALANGA PROVINCE (REF: 14/12/16/3/3/2/2161) Applicant: Emoyeni Renewable Energy Farm (Pty) Ltd Project Name: Ummbila Emoyeni Solar Energy Facility, Mpumalanga Province Project Location: Approximately 6km southeast of the town of Bethal and approximately 1km east of Morgenzon in the Mpumalanga Province. The project site is located across the Govan Mbeki and Lekwa Local Municipalities within the Gert Sibande District Municipality. The project site comprises the following farm portions: `Portions RE, 1, 6, 13 & 22 of the Bekkersrust 423 `Portions 9 (1) & 32(10) of the farm Rietfontein 420 EA Amendment: In terms of Condition 6 of the EA (DFFE Ref: 14/12/16/3/3/2/2161) dated 30 March 2023, and Regulation 29 of the EIA Regulations 2014, as amended, it is possible for an applicant to apply, in writing, to the competent authority for an amendment of the environmental authorisation if the amendment will not change the scope of a valid environmental authorisation nor increase the level or nature of the impact. In accordance with the requirements of the Department of Forestry, Fisheries, and the Environment (DFFE), this application is to change in the name of the SPV/project company in which the EA was issued, update applicant address and meet the requirements of Conditions 12,13, 14, 15 and 39 of the EA. Environmental Management Programmes (EMPrs) & Layout : In terms of Conditions 12, 13, 14 and 15 of the Environmental Authorisation (EA) (DFFE Ref: 14/12/16/3/3/2/2161) dated 30 March 2023, the final layout and EMPrs were not approved and are required to be submitted to the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment (DFFE) for approval prior to construction. Final EMPrs and Final Layout are available for review and comment: The Final EMPrs and Final Layout are available for a 30-day public review from 28 August 2026 to 28 September 2026. The due date for written comment is 28 September 2026.
