Why bring up race when it’s irrelevant?

I went to school with people of other races and had some very good black friends at school.

EDITOR – I am a 32-year old white man.

I went to school with people of other races and had some very good black friends at school.

Still today, I have friends of all races and honestly have no problem.

What really gets my blood boiling is that so many people of colour still throw the race card when they get into an argument with a white person. I was at a local business on Saturday when a woman in a double cab 4×4 was blocking the driving path. Unfortunately I was behind her and she was not moving. So I did what I would have done if it was the queen of England in front of me blocking traffic – I got on my hooter and when she finally moved and I got past her, I let go of some rather crude language, none of which mentioned race, colour or religion.

The next thing this woman approaches me in the shop and asks why I called her what I did. I replied that I did not call her anything but rather that she parks like one. I won’t use the word. She shouted I am racist and swore at me while walking through this establishment.

Now I have a few questions – are people ever going to get over this? Why bring up race when race or colour was not mentioned? Why, when in a face to face argument and things get a bit too hot for you, why does that make me racist?

Let’s get past all this race nonsense. When you get into an argument, have the backbone to have your say but don’t play the race card when things don’t go your way.
