Dave and Bridget in line for jackpot prize

The mens sides of Robbie Johnson and Tony Hoggins as well as Alex Fisher and Steve Baker were knocked out in the first round of the knockout stages on Saturday.

AT Bluff Bowling Club, Dave Le Roux and Bridget White won this month’s Bell any pairs competition and displaced Gary Moffat and Deon Maritz from the perch for next month’s competition, which now stands at R2,200.

They top scored with an overall score of 4+27 while Gary and Deon only managed a score of 4+16 and fell off the perch. The first session was won by Rob Davies and Hilton Lassak on a 2+13 with the second session going to Noel Morel and Robert Mhlongo on a 2+12. There were two 50/50 board draws with Alex Fisher and Terry Michelson winning the first and second draws respectively. The meat raffles were won by Rob Davies and Greg Dorrofield. Next month’s competition will be held on Sunday, 5 October.

Two club competitions were played on Saturday. In the mixed drawn pairs, Janice Rodgers and Kurt Spack defeated Gary Moffat and Dawn Spack, while in the mixed nominated pairs Dave Le Roux and Jay Retief beat Brian and Paula Osman.

The PNB men’s and women’s pairs continued at the weekend. The women’s side of Daphne Reinhardt and Sarie Bisset got to the quarter finals on Sunday, but unfortunately they lost. However had a very good run and well done. The men’s sides of Robbie Johnson and Tony Hoggins as well as Alex Fisher and Steve Baker were knocked out in the first round of the knockout stages on Saturday.

This Thursday, 18 September is the Brian Osman pairs. The Lilah Nel pairs will take place on 21 September. The annual Bluff /Wentworth challenge will take place on the public holiday Wednesday, 24 September and will be hosted by Wentworth. The Wentworth Howe’s your father tournament has been moved to 1 October to accommodate this annual event.
