Wanderers teams progress in PNB trips

Earlier in the day Steve van Rooyen overcame Wonki in the mens open singles final 21-12.

SATURDAY saw two club competitions played, with Richard Hendicott and Wonki losing to Errol Pienaar and William Richardson in the drawn pairs 24-25 in a rain-affected affair.

Earlier in the day Steve van Rooyen overcame Wonki in the men’s open singles final 21-12.

Bob Hayward represented the club in the Port Natal men’s senior singles finals, but unfortunately lost his game to finish joint third overall. Well done to them all.

Sunday saw the start of the men’s PNB trips, with two of the three entries from Durban Wanderers progressing unbeaten to the last 32, namely Steve van Rooyen, Graham Funnell and Bob Hayward as well as Paul White and Terrence and Pat McGlynn. Well done to them.

Friday’s various meat pack winners were: Lamb pack – Brian Craig, beef – Ralph Reynecke,

pork roast – Diane Swan, rump – Sagie Naidoo, chicken pack – Thomas S, chicken – Foxy.

The snowball sitting on R2,300 was a carry-over as Dave Swanson was not present.

The Friday Lotto was won with a pool of R2,225. Well done to Mitty Chelin for pulling the correct numbers of 5-6-8 out the bag.

The joker draw, which was won last week, has opened again, and the hunt will start again for the joker on Friday, 7 April.

The R10,000 draw being organised between Rhumbelow Shell Hole, Stella Bowling Club and Durban Wanderers Bowling Club will be hosted at the club on Friday, 31 March. The draw will be done around 7.30pm should anyone wish to attend.

The annual VC Memorial will also be held on Monday, 1 May – two bowlers or two non-bowlers are encouraged to enter, call Jeff for further details on 082-808-7793.
