Men’s inter-club bowling league begins

Games will commence on Saturday, 22 April

By Bolt-on-Wanderers

SATURDAY saw the men’s inter club league kick-off with the Wanderers Bowling Club first side winning 7-0 versus Westville Country Club and the second and third sides meeting each other in the first round.

The second side were eventual winners, taking the points 5-2.

This weekend sees the first break and games will commence on Saturday, 22 April at 1pm. Sunday saw the first round of the Oppenheimer mixed pairs with Steve van Rooyen and Bronwyn Webber progressing to the next round, but unfortunately Paul White and Ronel Morel, and Trish Overington and Patrick McGlynn failed to get through the round-robin.

Friday’s various meat pack winners were:

  • Lamb pack – Jackie Freeman,
  • beef – Eddie Bailey,
  • pork roast – Jeff Bolt,
  • rump – Chris Fourie,
  • chicken pack – Lara,
  • chicken – Mitty.

The snowball, which is at R2,500, was a carry-over as Warren Loots was not present.

The Friday Lotto was a carry over with no-one guessing the winning numbers. The joker draw kicked off with Samantha winning the chance to find the joker, but she unfortunately could not turn the correct card.

Wednesday also sees the Taffy pairs taking place, so give Ken a call if you wish to enter a side on 073-613-9733.

The annual VC Memorial will also be held on Monday, 1 May. Two bowlers or two non-bowlers are encouraged to enter. Call Jeff for further details on 082-808-7793.

Thoughts and prayers are extended to those members on the recovery list, get well soon fellow Wanderers.
