Wanderers bowlers advance in men’s open qualifying masters

The club committee and members extend their condolences to Charmaine and family, after the passing of Dan Paruk on Sunday.

CONGRATULATIONS to Paul White and Terrance McGlynn who both won their sections in the men’s open qualifying masters last weekend.

Similarly, congratulations go to Chris Klopper and Derek Stevens who overcame Errol Pienaar and William Richardson to claim the men’s nominated pairs title 23-11.

Friday’s various meat pack winners were: Lamb pack – Darryl Jacobson, beef – Martin van Staden, pork roast – Thomas Simpkins, rump – Diane Swan, chicken pack – bowls section, chicken – Chris Fourie.

The R600 snowball was a carry-over, as Chantal Hearnshaw was not present. Friday’s lotto was a carry-over of R350 and Matthew had a chance to locate the joker, but was unsuccessful. He managed to double his spot prize to R100 though. The pool is now in the region of R7,500.

The annual Dan Draper tournament takes place this year for the 69th time from Monday to Friday, 3 to 7 July. Richard and Jean are currently preparing the invites, so get your teams together.

The club committee and members extend their condolences to Charmaine and family, after the death of Dan Paruk on Sunday. He will be sorely missed by his extended family at the club.

The club secretary also reminds members of the main club AGM which will take place on Monday, 19 June. Anyone who has not paid their subs as yet will not be allowed to attend.

Thoughts and prayers are extended to those members on the recovery list, get well soon fellow Wanderers.
