Ramblers hiker to meander to Mpithi waterfall this weekend
DURBAN Ramblers Hiking Club hikes to Porcupine and Mpithi Falls in Krantzkloof Nature Reserve on Saturday, 6 October.
Call hike leader Ann on 083-666-5630 about this grade two, moderate hike of about 6km.The hike takes place in some shade, along the river and some open grassland above Mpithi Falls, along Longshadow Trail, across the river to explore Porcupine Falls. Take your own drinks for sundowners afterwards in the reserve. The gate closes at 6pm. Entrance costs R30. Meet at 1.45pm in the main picnic site in Kloof Falls Road, Kloof.
On Sunday, 7 October, hikers will undertake a Peacevale meander of about 15km. Call hike leader Jon on 082-459-1552 about this grade three outing.
Hikers are urged to come prepared, as this hike has not been walked for a while, so it may have changed. Join in for drinks afterwards at Drum and Bell (if it still exists). Petrol sharing costs R20. Meet at 8am at Union Main, Pinetown or at 8.30am at Intaba View (10 Old Main Road, Drummond).
