Results from the greens for Bluff Bowling Club

The women will travel once again this Saturday, 4 May to Northlands Bowling Club where they will play Parkhill.

The Bluff Bowling Club women’s team started their league campaign on Saturday, 13 April when they travelled to Amanzimtoti to play the Umhlali women’s side, but, unfortunately lost 5-0 in their opening encounter.

The women will travel once again this Saturday, 4 May to Northlands Bowling Club where they will play Parkhill.

The men’s A side hosted neighbours Durban Wanderers and lost narrowly in a four points to three defeat while the B side got back to its winning ways with another 5-0 victory away to Parkhill. The C side resumed their campaign with a drawn match as one side won 23-14 and the other lost 23-14 to share the spoils on two and a half points each.

All three men’s sides are at home this Saturday, 4 May when the club will host teams from Parkhill, Hillary and Hillcrest in their respective divisions. There is a bring and braai after the games.

The results of this month’s June Foster/ Glynnis Macrory 3-2-1 killer:

The overall winners Ron Addinal and partner on a 4+39 and the first session winners Gerhardt Hoffman and Keeran Lassak on a 2+30 while Jacques Geldenhuys and his partner took the spoils in the second session with a score of 2+28.

Matthew Lassak had the most touchers with eight. Anne Bonthrone was the board winner and Steve Evenwell took the roast beef home to Toti.

Johan Nel and Herbie Hoffman won the sportsman prize with a resounding 0-58.

Greg Dorrofield and Deon Els were the winners of the Fabricon 2-4-2 competition for April with a score of 4+14. Brian and Paula Osman took the first session while Ian and Wesley Hayes were the victors in the second session.

May months’ Fabricon 2-4-2 competition will be held on Wednesday afternoon, 8 May at 1.30pm.

Terry Michelson and Johan Nel won the Grand Rapid Spur any pairs for April when they outgunned the opposition with a mighty tally of 4+29 . In second spot some 14 shots adrift were Jorge Santos and Ryan Warren on a 4+14 while Matthew and Trystan Lassak took the first session on a 2+8.

The next edition of the Grand Rapid Spur competition will take place on Sunday, 19 May.

The John Dory any pairs competition for the month of April was won by Buck Boettger and Ashley McIntyre while Godfrey Adinall and Derek Stevens took second prize. Ryan Warren and Chad Wilson won the first session.

Thursday morning, 16 May is the date penciled in for the next John Dory’s tournament.

Men’s drawn trips saw Greg Dorrofield and team defeat Spider Williams side to progress to the next round.

In the women’s drawn 4’s Elize Stapelberg, Janice Rogers, Dawn Spack and Glynnis Macrory beat Daphne Reinhardt, Wendy Fleetwood, Chrissie Smith and Deirdre Koekemoer while in the women’s open singles Bridget White defeated Sarie Bisset.

Well done to Eddie Human and Elize Stapelberg on reaching the last eight of the PNB district mixed pairs.
