Girls showcase their skills on soccer field

GIRLS are making their mark on the soccer field by full force this year and they mean business. Senior teams braved the scorching sun at Ogle Road Sports Grounds on Saturday afternoon, 18 January to compete in the eThekwini Women’s Regional League games held on the day.
First to play on the day was visiting teams, Lamontville FC against Crusaders FC. The teams served up plenty of quality football for the anxious crowds in attendance to enjoy. Lamontville displayed a tight defence out on the field, giving Crusaders quite the challenge in their efforts to reach the goal post and shoot on target. Lamontville also encountered its fair share of setbacks with a few miscalculated passes, therefore losing the ball to the opposing team.
The intense game could have gone either way however, Lamontville claimed victory with a score of 2-1 by the blow of the final whistle. Both coaches expressed pride in their teams’ growth and development and encouraged the young women to level up as they prepare for the next game in the league.
