Eldorado Park SAPS detectives arrested three suspects in connection with an armed robbery in Eldorado Park Ext 9 on September 24.

According to Sergeant Fezeka Khobo, the incident occurred at approximately 23:45 when two victims were walking in the area and were allegedly ambushed at gunpoint by three unknown men armed with 9mm firearms.

The suspects allegedly threatened the victims, assaulted one of them on the head with a firearm and robbed the other of a black Samsung A25 cellphone valued at R5 000.

One victim sustained minor injuries during the incident. The cellphone was not insured.

Khobo said the Eldorado Park dedicated team of detectives, working with the Crime Intelligence Unit, conducted investigations that led to the tracing and arrest of the three alleged suspects on September 25 at approximately 11:00.

The suspects were detained at Eldorado Park SAPS for further police investigations and are expected to appear in court.

Eldorado Park SAPS station commander Brigadier Mkhacani Maluleke said he commended the officers, citing that the 24-hour turnaround strategy had been used in the case.
