Three constables to be given dignified send offs

The official funerals will take place on separate days between May 8 and May 10.

The three fallen SAPS members will be honoured with official funerals.

This was decided at a meeting held between the families of the late Constables Cebekhulu Linda, Boipelo Senoge and Keamogetwe Buys and the premier of the Free State Maqueen Letsoha-Mathae and the police provincial commissioner in the Free State Lieutenant General Baile Motswenyane.

The official funerals will take place on separate days.

Senoge will be buried on May 8 from 08:00 to 10:00, at St Peter Anglican Church, Rocklands, Mangaung and laid to rest at the South Park Cemetery.

Cebekhulu will be buried on May 9 from 08:00 to 10:00, at a venue to be confirmed and laid to rest at Magengenene Cemetery in Mangaung.

Buys will be buried on May 10 from 08:00- 11:00, also at a venue to be confirmed and laid to rest at Thaba Nchu.

In tribute to the dedication and service of the late constables, a memorial service will be held on May 6 from 12: 00 in Bobbiespark, 2 Hanna Street, Bloemfontein.

The three constables went missing after travelling to their place of deployment in Limpopo from Bloemfontein on April 23.

They were last tracked at an Engen garage near Grasmere toll plaza on the N1, travelling in a white VW Polo sedan. However, their phones and car tracker had gone off.

Police divers recovered their bodies on May 1 in the Hennops River, Centurion. The car was also recovered from the same river.

The Constables were travelling to their place of deployment in Limpopo.

It was reported the vehicle capsized before being impacted by the wall.

The SAPS and the Free State Provincial Government extend their deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of the fallen members.

Their passing touched the country deeply, however, their dedication and contribution will never be forgotten.
