Haas leads Di-Data at Tour Down Under

South African team Dimension Data got their 2017 World Tour campaign off to a solid start.

South African team Dimension Data got their 2017 World Tour campaign off to a solid start this week, with Australian rider Nathan Haas taking fourth position overall at the Tour Down Under.

Haas completed the six-stage race, which finished in Adelaide on Sunday, just 51 seconds off the pace of compatriot Richie Porte (BMC Racing) who won the general classification.

Haas was also third in the race for the sprinters’ jersey and sixth in the King of the Mountains classification.

“The competition was formidable and I think we have been presenting ourselves well over the last few days,” Haas said.

“The energy we have in the team feels like a big win, and that’s what makes me really proud about this week.”

Daryl Impey, riding for Australian outfit Orica-Scott, was the top SA rider in the general classification, taking 42nd place of 131 finishers.
