An inspiration to us all

By Trevor Reid

It was an inspired move by trainer Charles Laird to put the five-year-old gelding on the Polytrack in August 2014 as this Horse Chestnut gelding beat De La Danza easily and followed up in September by beating Zhivago.

In his other two Polytrack races Bold Inspiration was runner-up to Solar Star and a good fifth from a wide draw behind Night Trip.

When asked about the chances about Bold Inspiration during the KwaZulu-Natal Winter season trainer Laird stressed Bold Inspiration would be better after the rains so with the wet weather about recently Bold Inspiration could be at his best.

Master James is distance suited and receives 5kg from Bold Inspiration but picked up a four-  point penalty for his close up fifth place last time out so will race on a career high mark.

Probably the best bet of the evening is in the lucky last race where Salesman is back over what could be his best track and trip.
