Rain to fall on Anime

Trained by Dennis Drier, Anime has raced three times, all at Scottsville.

The connections of Anime will be entitled to be buoyed about the chances of their filly in Race 5 at Greyville today, in view of two of the feature results at Greyville on Sunday.

With the Local Government elections in mind, Greyville will be hosting a day/night meeting on the Polytrack with Race 1 going off at 4.10pm and the final race scheduled to be run at 8pm.

Trained by Dennis Drier, Anime has raced three times, all at Scottsville. On debut she went off at 16-1 and finished second, just 0.75 lengths behind A Womens Way, over 1000m. In her next start, over 1200m, she went off favourite at 3-1 bur faded into third. Winner of that race was Querari Falcon.

On Sunday A Womens Way won the Grade 2 Debutante over 1200m while Querari Falcon took top honours in the Grade 1 Thekwini Stakes over 1600m.

Anime backed up those two runs with an impressive 4.75-length win over Just Vogue over 1000m and has been priced up favourite at 18-10 for this FM 70 Handicap over 1000m.

However, this will be her first start on the Polytrack and she also has to give weight to some older rivals.

If one takes into account how Rain In Africa won in her only run on the Polytrack, the 15-2 available about Mike de Kock’s runner looks extremely attractive, especially as Anthony Delpech will ride the filly.

She only seems to be peaking now and could provide followers with some excellent value.
