Snaith to run the Fairview show

Following the Justin Snaith yard looks the way to go at Fairview today where racing takes place on the Polytrack.

One can build up an early kitty because the best bet on the card comes up in Race 1 where Snaith sends out Pataudi. This Tiger Ridge gelding has only been placed twice in his five starts to date but this is really a modest race and he could prove far too good for his rivals.

The Polytrack tends to play to the strengths of Pataudi as he is well drawn, shows good early pace and has jockey Andrew Fortune in the irons.

This, however, will be Pataudi’s first race on the Polytrack.

The battle for the places could be fought out by all of Come Along, Inquisition, Latino Rambo, King Onasis and Sky Full Of Stars.

Cape Flyaway (another Fortune-Snaith combination) may have found 1200m too far on her Polytrack debut but is the best weighted runner in Race 3, a Novice Plate for fillies and mares. This 1000m should suit and she should go close to winning.

Snaith could also be on the mark in the last two events on the card. In Race 7 both Ottimo and He’s A Nadoe have ability on their day and are suited to the track and trip.  Jockey bookings suggest Ottimo could be the right one but don’t leave out He’s A Nadoe.

Way Clear and Samhaan are two others who have undeniable winning chances in the race and should be included in exotics.

In Race 8 Grape Vine has made good improvement recently and flew up to win from an impossible position last time. That was his first run on the Polytrack and he clearly enjoyed it.

The step up in trip should suit him even more and he is well enough drawn in stall No 5.

The Dorrie Sham yard is in good form and Soleil Royal did well to win his latest over this course and distance and appears a danger, but he will need to do more under a four-point penalty.
