Sideways action at The Rock
The final round of this year's Cambees Midas Drift Championships will be held at the Rock Raceway in Boksburg on Saturday with around 25 drivers taking part.
TYRE TORTURE. Sideways sliding will be in vogue at the Rock Raceway this Saturday evening.
They will compete in separate categories for professionals and rookies with both championship points and silverware on offer. The competition will take the form of elimination rounds, until the top 16 get down to the serious business of concluding this season’s title chase.
Racing takes place around an intricate circuit laid out on the venue’s oval circuit and tarred infield. The Rock’s gates will be open from noon with practice runs in the early afternoon. The official competition will kick off at 4pm.
Food and drink will be on sale or you can take your own, and patrons will be treated to the Rock Shuffle courtesy of DJ Rock. Admission is R60 per adult and R30 per child between six and 12.
