Speaking to the media after guiding his side to a 1-1 Absa Premiership draw away to AmaZulu on Wednesday night, Thobejane was asked about facing Bidvest Wits in a Telkom Knockout quarterfinal on Saturday night.
In his answer, he denied that Wits were their Achilles heel and said a good example of a hoodoo is what Baroka are to Amakhosi.
“A draw against Baroka for Chiefs is as good as a win,” said Thobejane.
“They have never won a game against us. It is not that they are not good. It is just how football is sometimes and it is something Chiefs must admit that it is the culture and tradition of football,” he added.
