Mosimane wants Ugandan youngster

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane is interested in Kampala Capital City Authority's 16-year-old forward, Phakaaathi has learnt.

A source in Uganda where Masandawana played to a 1-1 draw with KCCA on Saturday afternoon revealed that Mosimane asked about Allan Okello’s availability after the match.

Sundowns advanced to the group stages of the Champions League after securing a 3-2 aggregate win.

Mosimane is said to have been impressed by the youngster and wants to take him under his wing and groom him.

“He spoke to KCCA coach and later to the officials asking that they give him the boy. He sounded sincere and although he was not given an immediate answer, it looks positive,” said a source who is a journalist in Uganda.

Phakaaathi understands that Mosimane wants to recruit young players and groom them for when one if his seniors leaves for greener pastures.

It is expected that Sundowns may lose Khama Biliat and Percy Tau at the end of the season with overseas clubs sniffing around and asking about their availability.

Sundowns have already made a killing with the sale of Keagan Dolly in January.
