Ellis to take competitive squad to Cosafa

Banyana Banyana interim coach Desiree Ellis says the Cosafa Women’s Championship is a good platform for some of the new members of the squad to stamp their authority in the team.

Ellis had to pick some fringe players as some of the regular members of the squad not available for the competition.

The Likes of Janine van Wyk, Jermaine Seoseposenwe, Andisiwe Mcgoyi and Linda Motlhalo are not in the list of the 20 players selected for the competition set to take place in Zimbabwe from September 13 to September 24.

“We are glad we had a selection camp not so long ago and it helped us come with a very competitive squad that we are taking to Zimbabwe. I am confident we will do well,” Ellis told the Safa website.
