I am not a quitter – Komphela
With pressure continuously mounting on him as fans’ calls for his axing gain momentum, Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela remains resolute and insists quitting has never crossed his mind.

Asked if he has ever considered vacating his position as results seem to not go his way, he simply said: “Winners quit, and quitters never win.”

On further probing, Komphela said he could be wired differently from other people. “I am starting to think whether the thought ever crossed my mind,” he said.

“The exciting thing about challenges is that you want to break through, you don’t hover around thinking ‘eish I am not breaking through…’ The excitement is in pushing. Maybe I have a different perspective on life. The thought never crossed my mind.
“I don’t want to say I am abnormal, but I don’t get to think like that. Maybe I am wired differently,” he added.
