Kgatlana and Motlhalo off to US

Banyana Banyana players Thembi Kgatlana and Linda Motlhalo are on their way to the US after participating at the Cyprus Women’s Cup with the senior national team.

While members of the Banyana squad make their way back to South Africa,  Kgatlana and Motlhalo linked up with Banyana skipper Janine van Wyk as they go to join their new team-mates at Houston-Dash.

“Saying goodbye to my teammates was very sad, but we will meet again. This is a new challenge for me and I want to grab this opportunity with both hands,” said Kgatlana who was voted the Most Valuable Player at the Cyprus Cup.

Banyana finished in sixth place at the competition after playing four games registering one win, one loss and two draws.
