Has Jali ruled out a Chiefs move?

Andile Jali says he is looking to win the Caf Champions League now that he is back in South Africa.

The Bafana Bafana midfielder has been linked with Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns.

With Chiefs not among the two teams that will play in the Champions League, Jali’s comment effectively rules out an Amakhosi move.

That leaves Pirates and Sundowns as the only possible destinations for the Bafana midfielder. Sundowns, as 2017/18 Premiership champions, and Pirates, as runners-up, will represent South Africa in the next edition of the Caf Champions League.

“I still want to win trophies. I did not come back just to be back at home. I am not just here to play and enjoy the game. I still want to win more trophies – especially the Caf Champions League,” Jali told Metro FM recently.

“If I can win the Champions League, then I will say: ‘OK, I have done it.’

“I did not come here for money, I came here for my family and whatever offers that will be on the table. I will hear from my manager, Mike Makaab. It’s not on me, He is doing everything.”
