Hunt for new Chiefs coach down to six men

Kaizer Chiefs football manager Bobby Motaung has revealed that the club’s search for a new coach has been narrowed down to just six candidates.

Speaking during the launch of the Shell Helix Cup on Monday, Motaung said the club received between 15 and 20 CVs for the job.

“There is a shortlist. We‘ve had a lot of coaches that have fished – there are about 15-20 coaches’ CVs that we’ve received, but we have shortlisted it. We are now on the verge of finalising the man that we feel will carry the club and take it forward. We have about six coaches remaining,” Motaung told the media.

“It’s a process, and there are meetings and committees where we sit and analyse and interact, and obviously give views and inputs,” added Motaung.

Gavin Hunt, Luc Eymael, Stuart Baxter, Nikola Kavazovic, Doctor Khumalo and Eric Tinkler are among the coaches who have been linked with the Chiefs coaching job.
