Benni cools title talks again

Cape Town City coach Benni McCarthy has reiterated his earlier stance that he  is not thinking about winning the league title.

This comes after his side came back from a goal down to beat defending league champions Mamelodi Sundowns 2-1 on Tuesday night.

Following the win, City moved up to third place on the log, just a point behind joint leaders Orlando Pirates and Sundowns.

“We’re not greedy, we run our own race. We work day-to-day to improve ourselves and to improve as a team and then collectively,” McCarthy told SuperSport TV after the game.

“Then, when we can pick up results, it’s good. But we don’t look at who is behind us and in front of us. We only face ourselves, so for us it’s a game at a time. We want to win every game, so every team who is going to come we are not just going to lie over but make it as tough as we can.”
