City dismiss Billiat reports, confirm Masango interest

Cape Town City chairman John Comitis has dismissed media reports linking Mamelodi Sundowns forward Khama Billiat to his club.

This comes after reports emerged that City are interested in the Zimbabwean star, whose contract with Sundowns is set to expire in June.

“I’m sure everyone would be interested in a player like Khama Billiat, but right now he is not in our sights. He is not in my plans at the moment,” Comitis told IOL.

Meanwhile, Comitis confirmed that his team were interested in securing the services of former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Mandla Masango.

The Bafana Bafana midfielder is currently on the books of Randers FC in Denmark.

“We spoke to Mandla. The problem is that he is committed. The transfer fee that his club are asking is beyond our reach. Right now we can’t talk to Mandla since it is outside the transfer window, which means we can only talk to his club,” Comitis explained.
