Ex-Pirates defender lays theft charge against girlfriend

Former Orlando Pirates defender Ayanda Gcaba has accused his girlfriend Lolo Morapeli of stealing his BMW X4.

According to Sunday World, Gcaba’s publicist girlfriend handed herself over to the police in Diepkloof on Thursday. She appeared in court, but was remanded in custody.

Gcaba, however, denied opening a case against his girlfriend when contacted by the publication. But police spokesperson confirmed Hitler Ngwenya confirmed a case of theft was opened against Morapeli.

“A case of theft was opened at Diepkloof police station and is still under investigation. The suspect was arrested on Thursday and appeared in court. The suspect is remanded in custody,” Ngwenya told the Sunday World.

According to a police statement, Gcaba opened the case last year in October, claiming that his BMW was taken from a pavement where he had parked it.

Gcaba was said to be hanging out at a spot in Diepkloof when the car was reportedly stolen.
