Chiefs legend lauds Pirates midfielder

Tenashe Nengomasha believes Orlando Pirates utility player Marshall Munetsi has what it takes to captain the Zimbabwean national team one day.

Nengomasha says Munetsi is one of the best players that Zimbabwe and can lead the Warriors to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.

Munetsi can play in defence and in the midfield and Nengomasha believes this makes him a good addition to the Warriors squad.

“Marshall Munetsi stands out among those players, I can see the future captain of the Warriors in that boy,” Munetsi told The Herald.

“He is composed and authoritative, he can play in many positions in the defence, central defence, the holding midfield role, among three defenders, he is a joy to watch.

“He is the modern defender, and he doesn’t only win the ball back but plays it to a teammate to start the attack, and that’s what you want in today’s football.”
