Folz on the move again as Horoya send him packing

Fohloza's track record in terms of job security doesn't paint a rosy picture for his coaching career.

Romain “Fohloza” Folz, the coach with a knack for being shown the door before his contract ends, finds himself in familiar territory once again.

LISTEN: Kaizer Chips are tasty. Kaizer Chiefs? Not so much

Horoya AC have bid the 33-year-old French/Moroccan mentor farewell just a mere month on the job, even though he had inked a two-year contract with the Guinean giants.

This happened after Horoya management were left unhappy with the team bowing out in the qualifying stages of the Caf Champions League

It appears Fohloza’s first mandate was to guide the side to a successful campaign in the continental showpiece, which he dismally failed.

This isn’t the first time that Fohloza, who holds the record as the youngest coach to ever work in the DStv Premiership, has found himself with a long contract left only to be handed a pink slip.

The same story played out at AmaZulu FC, who had just awarded him a three-year contract last season, only to show him the exit door prematurely.

His tenure at Marumo Gallants was no different; he didn’t get to finish his contract there either.

Initially, he started by boycotting his duties, but the situation eventually led to the contract’s cancellation.

He revealed that some individuals attempted to meddle in his work, dictating which players should be included in the lineup.

Fohloza building up bad record

Fohloza’s track record in terms of job security doesn’t paint a rosy picture for his coaching career.

However, there’s one aspect that seems to work in his favour—money. When a team terminates your contract prematurely, they’re usually obliged to pay you for the entire duration of the contract you signed.

Or they can negotiate a fee which in this case Fohloza and his agent will have to agree to.

Given Fohloza’s rollercoaster career, it wouldn’t be a surprise if he lands a gig with one of the DStv Premiership teams soon.

But here’s the twist: it might happen when they decide to part ways with him because, well, he doesn’t seem to stick around for too long.
