Malema asks fans to rally behind Bafana

The EFF leader is trying to prevent a situation that could see fans fail to show up for the national team.

EFF leader Julius Malema has called on the fans to buy tickets and attend Bafana Bafana’s Fifa 2018 World Cup qualifier against Burkina Faso at the FNB Stadium on Saturday.

This comes after reports that only 300 tickets were sold earlier this week.

“Brothers & sisters let’s all buy Bafana Bafana tickets, we are not a nation of quitters. We can’t give up,we are Bafana Bafana. #AsikiBafana,” Malema tweeted.

The EFF leader revealed the EFF would be giving away tickets to the match for free to learners and supporters around Gauteng.

“@EFFSouthAfrica will be giving away 1 000 tickets to learners and supporters in Joburg, as part of the practical support to Bafana Bafana.”

The match is crucial for the senior national team’s quest to qualify for the World Cup to be staged in Russia, but the team’s recent results have been so poor that supporters have given up on the hopes of qualifying for the global event.

Bafana are last in Group D with only one point after their victory against Senegal last year was ordered to be replayed in November following the banning of the match official Josephy Lamptey for “manipulating” the game.
