Chiefs coach resigned to losing Ekstein

Kaizer Chiefs’ conundrum with midfielder Pule Ekstein continues and sources have revealed that coach Ernst Middendorp had resigned himself to losing the 28-year-old to another club as contract extension talks have hit another snag.

Phakaaathi earlier reported that Middendorp had told management to do whatever it takes to ensure that Ekstein stays but that has not happened and has forced the coach to start side-lining the midfielder.

“He has been given yet another “time-off” to think about his future because the talks have not yielded any positives,” said a source.

Another source said the problem might be that Ekstein has already agreed to a pre-contract elsewhere.
