City keen on Celtic’s Ndengane

Phakaaathi has learnt that Cape Town City have joined the race for Bloemfontein Celtic midfielder-cum-defender Alfred Ndengane’s signature.

City join Orlando Pirates who have already expressed interest in the 30-year-old services.

“John Comitis (City chairman) likes Ndengane and has recommended him to Benni (McCarthy) and Benni likes the payer as well and has asked John to try and sign him. What is left now is for City to approach Celtic because he is still contracted to them,” a source close to Celtic told Phakaaathi.

Celtic have opened talks with Ndengane as they look to keep him in Bloemfontein longer than 2019 when his current contract expires.

Ndengane is an important member of the club, having only missed one match for Siwelele this season due to suspension, therefore City’s offer will have to be enticing if Celtic are to let go of him.
